A special drive that leads you to mountain tops and back again to a sea level less than the Pacific. The mountains just east of San Diego are very scenic, but the Salton Sea stands out above most during the drive. Here the smooth waters are almost hypnotizing, but as you again leave the area on the way to Laughlin the mountains become more prevalent and at times one can see the Colorado River.
